A night with the symphony

While Kent was at home working on his next furniture masterpiece, Mike and I went with my mom and her friend Jane to listen and watch the Oregon symphony, ballet and opera put on a show: singing, dancing, cannons, fireworks... how can you beat that? (Well, with this perhaps, but it's in a different price league.)

Of course, we did hustle home afterwards to catch the fever from Mile High Stadium (which is where Dad was). Perhaps I'll be able to pass along a field report in the next few days ...

Oh ... and the new toy I referred to a couple days ago? While Kent and Mike are uber-hip with their slick iPhones, I went a different route and picked up a new Blackberry Pearl (with WiFi, thank you very much). So far, I'm pretty impressed ... the photo above was with the Pearl's 2 megapixel camera (way better than the camera in my old phone) and the one test pic I took using the Pearl's built-in flash wasn't too bad. So, as the 3guys prepare for a mini trip tomorrow, perhaps we'll manage some mobile blogging to keep things fresh.
